Supermajors

Reserves-replacement ratio (RRR) is often used as a measure of the long-term health of supermajors.

In the fight to keep their RRR above 100%, oil and gas companies are increasingly turning to seabed logging.

Seabed logging offers a way to find new offshore prospects in frontier and mature regions more effectively, and to accelerate the traditional exploration process. It is a powerful tool in the battle to replace reserves, which is why supermajors were among the first companies to routinely include seabed-logging technology in their exploration campaigns.

Hydrocarbon reserves are increasingly owned or controlled by NOCs, and these companies are more autonomous and venturing beyond their traditional territories. Companies wanting to efficiently compete for acreage in the globally exploration arena are using seabed logging in their workflows.

Exploration continues to move into geographically inaccessible and deepwater areas, but seabed logging can offer improved exploration efficiency in these frontier regions.

Seabed logging is also helping supermajors find bypassed oil and satellite fields in mature areas, where they already have infrastructure and geological knowledge.
