Frontier basins
Exploration is increasingly in areas at the limits of our geographical or technical capabilities.
Exploration in these frontier areas is high risk, which is why seabed-logging technology, with its capacity to reduce exploration risks, is particularly relevant.
In geographical frontier areas, knowledge of the subsurface is limited and exploration is far from logistical support. Hostile weather conditions may impose limited operating windows, and political and environmental sensitivities may also add to the exploration challenge.
Deepwater exploration represents a technical frontier requiring expensive rigs and specialist technologies. However, deepwater is conducive to seabed-logging technology, and its inclusion in exploration workflows can make the process more efficient and enable operators to better focus their drilling resources.
