Johan Kr. Mikkelsen, Chairman of the Board

Johan Kr. Mikkelsen is currently the Chief Technology Officer of Perestroika AS. Johan has 40 years’ experience from Norsk Hydro and Statoil. He entered the oil and gas industry at the Mongstad refinery in 1974 as process engineer and a couple of years later as Production Manager at the refinery. In 1983 he moved on as Production Director for Oseberg field and in 1992 as SVP for Norsk Hydro drilling. In 2000 he continued as SVP for Oseberg asset and in 2003 as SVP for the Troll asset. In 2005 he became Country manager for Norsk Hydro Canada before he moved on as Peregrino Project Director and later Production Director for the Peregrino field in Brazil. In 2012 he returned to Norway as VP for the Statoil Subsea Improvement Project until early 2014 when he retired from Statoil.

Johan Kr Mikkelsen holds a Master degree from NTH from 1973 in Industrial Chemistry and a Master degree in Chemical Engeneering from University of Wisconsin, USA in 1979.

Petteri Soininen, Board member

Petteri Soininen is currently Partner at RWC Partners and Co-Head of the RWC European Focus Fund. He has been responsible for the RWC European Focus Fund since February 2009 and oversees and manages all engagement activities with companies in the fund’s portfolio. Previously, Petteri Soininen worked as strategy consultant with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in both Europe and the US. He has over 16 years of experience in collaborating with top management to design and implement change programs including major transformations to deliver sustainable shareholder value.

Petteri holds a MSc (with distinction) in Industrial Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology. Petteri is a Finnish citizen.

Mimi Berdal, Board member

Mimi K. Berdal currently runs an independent legal and corporate counseling business. She holds a Cand. Jur. (law) degree from the University of Oslo and is admitted to the Norwegian Bar Association.

Mimi Berdal is also member of the Board of Directors of the listed companies Interoil E&P ASA and Itera ASA, in addition to Gassco AS.





Alexandra Herger, Board member

Ms. Alexandra (Alex) Herger, a US citizen based in Maine, has extensive senior leadership and board experience in worldwide exploration and production for international oil and gas companies. Her most recent leadership experience was as Vice President of Global Exploration for Marathon Oil Corporation until her retirement in July 2014. Prior to this position, Ms. Herger was Director of International Exploration and New Ventures for Marathon Oil Company from  2008-2014, at Shell International and Shell USA from 2002-2008. Prior to the Shell / Enterprise Oil acquisition in 2002, Ms. Herger was responsible for the addition of multiple giant deep water discoveries. Prior to that, Mr Herger held positions of increasing responsibility in oil and gas exploration and production, operations and planning with Hess Corporation and ExxonMobil Corporation. Ms. Herger holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from Ohio Wesleyan University and post-graduate studies in geology from the University of Houston. In addition to EMGS, Ms. Herger currently holds board positions in Panoro Energy ASA, Tortoise Capital Advisors CEF, Tethys Oil and she is a member of the PGS Nomination Committee.




Jon Gunnar Solheim, Board member, Employee representative

Jon Gunnar Solheim started in EMGS in the R&D department in 2004. His main focus in EMGS has been receiver development and the software connected to the receivers. In 2007 he contributed to establishing the EMGS Tekna group and was the leader of the Tekna group from 2007 to 2018. During these years, he had the role as one of the employee representatives in EMGS, participating in regular meetings with EMGS management, both formal and informal, as well as providing support to employees.
He has participated in comprehensive trainings provided by Tekna, including specific courses covering economics for companies and work as employee representative in company boards. Mr. Solheim holds a MSc in Cybernetics from NTH (NTNU).


Marte Karlsen 20172

Marte Karlsen, Board member, Employee representative

Marte Karlsen has experience from working in an international environment and with international trade. She lived and worked in Germany for several years, in the management of a vineyard. In Norway, Marte has worked with procurement within wholesale followed by logistics at a technology start-up before entering the oil business at Stena Drilling. She holds a Cand.Mag. from NTNU in English and Political Science. She has been Crewing Manager in EMGS since 2010.
