In the late 1990's the founders of Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) started a revolution.
They were the first to successfully apply electrical remote sensing methods to locating oil in reservoirs deep beneath the world's oceans, a goal that had eluded researchers for 75 years.
In the last four years EMGS has turned an experimental technique into a commercial reality that is attracting unprecedented interest from oil companies worldwide.
The method brings a new dimension to offshore hydrocarbon prospecting and has been recognised in 2006 by a prestigious industry award for engineering innovation.
EMGS surveys have the potential to dramatically increase the success rate of exploration drilling, helping to meet mounting world energy requirements in the short term and replace oil and gas reserves for many years to come.
Major operators including Statoil and Shell now routinely use EMGS surveys. And national regulators such as the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy are requiring operators to use the technique. In short an important new exploration tool has arrived.
If you would like to be part of the new revolution in oil exploration we would like to talk to you.
