From 2D crossed-line surveys to 3D EM surveys with 3D inversion, the data amounts required to deliver the best results for our customers have grown. Processing power for EMGS ‘s Aurora cluster is achieved through an assembly of 6000 CPU cores, allowing us to deliver enormous amounts of complex data from our vessels in record time.
Future generations of 3D EM modelling and inversion will also require new thinking related to how the customer’s data is brought from memory to processor. EMGS stands prepared, having changed the backbone of its network and moved to a 40 GIGABYTE Mellanox Ethernet system.
Our inversion schemes can handle any survey layout and geological anisotropy, so we can depth-convert any EM dataset acquired with a geometry from anywhere in the world.
