The acquisition of high-quality seabed-logging data is the overriding objective of any EMGS survey.
Acquisition includes collection, quality control and basic processing of data. Superior receiver and source technology give the best signal-to-noise ratio in the industry. Data quality control is performed in real time for the source and navigation systems, and immediately after recovery for the receivers.
Basic processing converts recorded time-series data to frequency-domain data, and includes receiver calibration and in-line rotation. It is performed on board the vessels, and the results are sent via satellite to the geology and geophysics department for further quality control and reporting.
Offshore quality control and processing enable the survey to be optimised on the basis of the data acquired. For example, if initial acquisition and processing suggest that part of a prospect has been identified, the survey can be extended to delineate the whole prospect without the vessel having to return to the area.
We have the capacity to perform large surveys all over the world from our four vessels (a fifth is under construction). Each vessel carries sufficient receivers to perform large surveys safely and efficiently without having to interrupt them to redeploy receivers. Our experienced crews have been recognised for safe operations during more than 200 surveys.
Our acquisition services are available as standalone modules or as part of a comprehensive seabed-logging survey.
